A LOVE SUPREME A belief in that SUPREME LOVE is exactly what you need to enter the ZONE OF THE UNKNOWN. Without the strength of that LOVE you fear toenter that ZONE or you get lost, if you try to move in it. Thank you John Coltrane, thank you Marvin BuGaLu Smith, thanks to all the great musicians (past/present/future) who have given, and keep giving and will give mankind an idea of this LOVE SUPREME........ Muggy When I was discovering all the music of Marvin BuGaLu Smith he had put up some videos On You tube, so I watch them WOWW was this man real playing like that I had to find out so I didn't hesitate to write him an email to ask him, if I could come over to the USA and study with him. Now, six weeks later, I am in Poughkeepsie NY and live room by room with one of the great drummers of jazz-history. He says about himself, that he is a bridge, a bridge between the big and wonderful heritage of the jazz-tradition and my generation. I’m 33 years old He knows exactly what it means to play the drums on a very high level, that level, that we call jazz-drumming But he is not just teaching what other great drummers developed; he enriches all this knowledge with his own brilliant view on the instrument. And this view is unique, because it goes very deep into the quality of the numbers, especially the "6". ". It also looks after the possibility to play the drums with the power and beauty of the five elements. The flow of the water, the gravity of the earth, the weightlessness of the air and the dexterity of the fire. And the void of space. So his teaching goes from the principals of the rudiments up into regions, where it’s more Intuitive understanding Since I am here, I am highly inspired and just after a few days; I felt that a strong transformation was taking place inside of me. So I have to say, that Marvin gave to me much more than I have expected when I was writing this (life-changing) email to him. Bugalu is a real master and not just of the drums, as you will find out when you do the step to study heart to heart with him. Thank you very much Marvin.
